(KRON) – One person is dead after a shooting in Antioch on Friday. Antioch police were dispatched to the 800 block of Sunset Drive due to reports of a shooting around 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 22. Two Antioch minors killed in fatal hit-and-run Upon arrival, Antioch officers located a 26-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound. According to police, officers and paramedics began rendering first aid. However, the victim succumbed to his injuries.Patrol officers located a suspect nearby and detained him without incident, police said. The victim’s name is being withheld until proper family notification has been made. According to police, this incident appears to be an isolated incident. This is an ongoing investigation. (BCN) -- A 30-year-old man accused of taking the tools of a construction worker in Milpitas was arrested Friday, police said.The Milpitas Police Department said on its Facebook account that the suspect, who was later identified as a San Jose resident, was traced with the help of the Automated License Plate Reader technology as he was found to be driving a stolen vehicle from San Jose.Police said that within three minutes after the alleged robbery took place around 9:20 a.m., officers arrived and obtained the license plate of the suspect's vehicle, the location of which was simultaneously alerted to them through the ALPR.The vehicle was located within minutes and a pursuit operation ensued reaching the city of Fremont.The suspect was arrested with the assistance of the Fremont police, and the construction worker's tools were returned, the Milpitas police said.Copyright © 2023 Bay City News, Inc.19 residents displaced by apartment fire in Northeast DC

A 90-year-old pedestrian has died from being struck by a vehicle in Georgetown on Saturday morning.Halton police responded to reports of a collision between a pedestrian and a vehicle just before 7:30 a.m. at Mountainview Road South.The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.The cause of the incident is under investigation, and Halton police’s Collision Reconstruction Unit attended and has taken over the investigation.Several witnesses remained at the scene, however any other witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage is asked to contact police.A rebel attack on Burundi from neighboring Congo has left at least 20 dead, the government says
