Kraft Macaroni and … Fava Beans?The Kraft Heinz Co. said Wednesday it’s bringing dairy-free macaroni and cheese to the U.S. for the first time. AUSTIN (KXAN) -- The Austin Police Department has identified the victim of a homicide in southeast Austin the day before Thanksgiving. Last Wednesday around 12:37 p.m., APD responded to a disturbance call near the intersection of Deer Run Drive and Blue Dawn Trail where they located Alexander Jaimes, 17, with a gunshot wound. Police took Jaimes to a hospital, where he later died. PREVIOUS COVERAGE: Police investigating southeast Austin death Wednesday Detectives with the homicide unit and crime scene specialists responded to process the scene.APD said in a release that the investigation determined Jaimes and a female suspect had argued then fought physically, which ended with the suspect shooting Jaimes. No arrest has been made at this time and the investigation is ongoing. HAYS COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — Emergency responders in Hays County responded to a multi-vehicle collision Thursday morning off Highway 290 in Drippings Springs.Hays County officials said the incident occurred near Headwaters Boulevard.“All eastbound lanes are shut down and only one lane open westbound,” officials said.Due to the collision, officials asked drivers to avoid the area.This is a developing story. An overturned dump truck severely slowed traffic on the 605 Freeway in Whittier Thursday morning.The truck spilled its contents on the freeway near Washington Boulevard in West Whittier-Los Nietos.Aerial footage from Sky5 showed the truck on its side perpendicular to the flow of traffic, as well as a large amount of dirt on multiple lanes.By about 6:45 a.m., traffic was slowly moving in both directions, though northbound vehicles were limited to only one lane.Man fatally shot in Bell

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is assisting the Bell Police Department with an investigation after a man was fatally shot Wednesday night.The man, whose identity has not been released, was shot a few minutes before 9 p.m. in the 4700 block of Gage Avenue in Bell, the LASD said in a news release.He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.Footage from the scene shows an investigator placed evidence markers in the street and close to a nearby building and its front porch.Anyone with information is asked to call the LASD Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500.To provide information anonymously, call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477) or visit lacrimestoppers.org.Shane MacGowan, Pogues frontman, dead at 65

Shane Macgowan, the singer-songwriter and frontman of “Celtic Punk” band The Pogues, best known for the Christmas ballad “Fairytale of New York,” died Thursday, his family said. He was 65.“It is with the deepest sorrow and heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of our most beautiful, darling and dearly beloved Shane Macgowan,” his wife Victoria Clarke, his sister Siobhan and father Maurice said in a statement.The singer died peacefully with his family by his side, the statement added.The musician had been hospitalized in Dublin for several months after being diagnosed with viral encephalitis in late 2022. Rite Aid is closing over 30 additional locations after closing more than 150 of its stores earlier this year following its Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection filings. The Philadelphia company, which is marking its 60th year in business, has posted annual losses for several years and has been cutting costs and closing stores as it dealt with long-standing financial challenges. It has said it expects a net loss of as much as $680 million in the current fiscal year, which will end next spring.The company, like its rivals, also faces financial risk from lawsuits over opioid prescriptions. Rite Aid already has reached several settlements, including one announced last year with the state of West Virginia for up to $30 million.After filing for bankruptcy protection in mid-October, the chain announced the closures of more than 150 stores across 15 states.
